who we are
About Heritage For Promising Future
HPF is A NON-PROFIT dedicated to implementing classes, workshops, events, cultural trips, and promoting positive community changes
WHILE HPF SPECIALIZES IN LOW-INCOME, NATIVE HAWAIIAN AND INDIGENOUS CULTURES AND AT-RISK TEENS, CLASSES ARE OPEN TO EVERYBODY
Our mission
The HPF – STRONG FOUNDATION program firmly believes that habits are rooted in identity. By supporting the whole person (and community) and giving that individual support at a young age HPF – STRONG FOUNDATION can initiate the targeted education and programs needed to set up healthy habits for a lifetime.
Our vision
In addition to classes and workshops, HPF will hold activities and excursions such as trips to working farms and orchards, shopping trips to farmers’ markets, trips to Pow Wows and Hula exhibitions, and walks in beautiful Indigenous and Hawaiian sites to encourage physical activity while bonding with nature.
Our story
HPF also provides mentors and support groups, an essential piece many young people are missing. Not only because a caring mentor can point students to resources they might not know about (like therapists, doctors, or support groups) but also because knowing someone is completely on their side and believing in them, can often be the one thing that turns a young person’s life around.
What we Do
Our primary causes
HPF also provides mentors and support groups, an essential piece many young people are missing. Not only because a caring mentor can point students to resources they might not know about (like therapists, doctors, or support groups) but also because knowing someone is completely on their side and believing in them, can often be the one thing that turns a young person’s life around.
Heritage Promise
Heritage for a Promising Future (HPF) teaches low-income, underserved students a variety of topics, including traditional Native history, dance, and language; communication, arts, music, STEM, career trades, and life skills— all specifically designed to help students succeed in life.
